Dogs older than four months need a Maple Ridge licence each year. The permanent tag stays with the dog, but you must still pay the yearly fee. Apply by email or fax, then pay once the city creates the account.

Apply for the first licence
Download the application and send it to Dogs@MapleRidge.ca or fax 604-467-7445. A first application cannot currently be submitted directly through the online payment service. Staff email an account number after entering the application.
A licence is not active until payment is complete. Proof from a veterinarian is needed for the spayed or neutered rate.
Renewal dates and discounts
Licences expire on December 31. Renewal notices are mailed in December. Pay by January 31 for the lower fee. Senior owner discounts apply at age 65 and over.
A dog acquired after July 1 may qualify for $12.50 altered or $26 unaltered fees with proof of acquisition within the previous 30 days. A guide dog fee waiver requires the valid permit or licence described by the city.
Renew and keep records current
Use the notice’s account number and access code for Visa or Mastercard payment online, call 604-467-7305 and press 3, or pay at City Hall.
Tell the office if your address changes, you move away or no longer own the dog. A permanent tag is identification, not proof that this year’s fee has been paid.
