Current stage and dates

Metro Vancouver returned to Stage 1 on September 1, 2026. The city states restrictions continue through October 15 unless otherwise announced. Older Stage 2 and Stage 3 sections describe other stages, not the current lawn rule.

Restrictions apply to properties served by municipal drinking water. The page explains that stages increase as supply conditions worsen, so do not assume this week’s rule will cover a later drought period.

Stage 1 residential lawn windows

Even-numbered addresses water lawns Saturday; odd-numbered addresses Sunday. Automatic watering is allowed from 5 to 7 a.m. Manual lawn watering is allowed from 6 to 9 a.m. on the assigned day.

Trees, shrubs and flower gardens may use sprinklers any day from 5 to 9 a.m. Use the full city stage summary for other uses and for any later restriction stage.

Reporting and changing stages

Send concerns to Bylaws@MapleRidge.ca or the Report a Concern service. The city’s August observation program used marked vehicles and vests; staff did not enter private land, approach residents or enforce rules during that monitoring work.

The page still includes future-stage tables and an August monitoring notice alongside the September current-stage update. This guide separates the dated monitoring work from the current rule.
