Understand what is being prepaid
The monthly amount is set by the city using an estimate of the next year’s taxes. The updated amount appears on the annual tax notice. Ten monthly payments do not guarantee that the full bill is covered.
Any remaining balance is withdrawn on the tax due date under the monthly-plus-due-date option. The due-date-only choice does not spread payments over ten months.

Apply, amend or cancel
Use the TIPP application or amendment/cancellation form. You can sign up at any time during the year. The plan continues until you cancel in writing.
If selling the property, cancel the plan yourself. Do not assume the sale or a mortgage company will notify this payment arrangement automatically.

Returned withdrawals and grants
A payment that the bank does not honour attracts the service fee in the city fee bylaw. Three returned payments result in withdrawal cancellation.
You must still claim an eligible Home Owner Grant with the province every year by the due date. For plan questions contact prepayment@mapleridge.ca or 604-467-7316.
