Seven route zones and priorities

Primary roads are chosen for emergency facilities, transit, traffic volume and exclusive access to large neighbourhoods. Crews keep working on those routes during snowfall. Secondary school and public-facility access follows once the snow stops.

The complete seven-zone list is shown below. Zone descriptions identify the general area, not every road’s service level. Use the linked PDF maps for actual primary and secondary roads.

Tracker and neighbour help

The Snow Plow Tracker uses vehicle transponders during an event. Positions are approximate, and a truck travelling over a cleared road may be returning for fuel, salt, sand or brine. A location dot is not a promise a nearby street was serviced.

Snow Angels depends on neighbours helping neighbours; the city recognizes helpers but does not arrange matches. Maple Ridge Community Services at 604-467-6911 may have volunteers. Municipal dispatch is available at 604-463-9581.
